STAY ALIVE
BEMANI

A bold indictment of the oppressive Iranian society, Bemani tells the story of three repressed women: one is forced to marry an old man; another is forced to quit medical school by her disapproving father; and the third, a rug maker, is persecuted by her brothers for allegedly having an affair with a soldier. But these women aren't going to be victimised by the harsh conditions without putting up a fight.

I was actually amused with the way the film is shot. Its funny when the film wants to put an idea across, a narrator would suddenly voice out some qns to give us a clearer picture of the storyline. Its really a simple flick.

Anyway, its really saddening to see women being so suppressed in other parts of the world. I won't say the flick s fantastic. In fact, by hollywood standards it sucks. But yet its just so funny la. I mean the cinematography is simple and the way they try to protray the idea. =D

Went over to suntec foodfest. *grinz* Hows festive.

WAR PHOTOGRAPHER

Photojournalist James Nachtwey has been traveling to war-torn countries for two decades to document the poverty, famine and suffering. This film combines interviews with photographs, and even a "photographer's-eye view" of the action-a video camera was fixed to the body of Nachtwey's still camera, bringing us into the frontline as well. From Nicaragua during the contra war, South Africa in the mid-1980's Kosovo, Indonesia and Rwanda, the film reflects on what kind of difference the photographs have made.

More like looking forward to this on tuesday.

Update on yesterday:

I was really bored with whatever soccer match that arsenal was playing yesterday! Bored@Father Flanagan's Irish Pub! I really belong to the era when eric cantona, david seaman were playing!
